Los Angeles Angels Vs. Minnesota Twins MLB Betting Odds

When Albert Pujols signed with the Los Angeles Angels this offseason, a lot of attention was directed towards the back end of his 10-year contract, when his production will sure dip.

But after one week of baseball, it’s his current performance that’s concerning. The All-Star first baseman has yet to live up to his billing in this young season, batting just 3-for-14 with zero homers in his first four games with the club. Tuesday he went hitless in four at-bats.

What’s worse is he and teammate Vernon Wells, two of the team’s highest-paid players, are a combined 5-for-28.

They’ll try to get back on track against the winless Minnesota Twins Wednesday night as the clubs continue their three-game series at Target Field. The Angels are favored, according to Bovada’s MLB Betting Odds, by 1 1/2 runs, with a 7 1/2-run total.

Pujols’ slow start is under the microscope even more with Prince Fielder, the other big name free agent this winter, making a big splash already with a .417 average and two bombs. It’s concerning but certainly not a reason to hit the panic button just yet. April is historically his worst hitting month (albeit still .316) and he started similarly last season before popping off for 37 home runs. He only has three hits all year, but bettors might be able to use that to their advantage Wednesday night.

Bovada’s MLB Player Prop page lists his odds to have over 2 1/2 hits runs and RBI at +110. And his power stroke is bound to take off, and Bovada is listing his odds to hit a homer Wednesday night at +300.

The Twins have slumped through each of their first four games, scoring less than two runs per game.

They’ve scored just one in each of their two last games, including a 5-1 route on Tuesday.
